LeydenJar is proud to announce its inclusion in TIME’s prestigious World’s Top 250 GreenTech Companies of 2025. This recognition places LeydenJar among the most innovative and impactful companies worldwide that are driving the transition toward a more sustainable future. Ranked at 104th on the list, LeydenJar is one of only six Dutch companies selected and the 6th European company within the competitive ‘Energy Storage and Distribution’ category.
The selection was conducted independently by TIME and Statista. A rigorous process evaluated 8,100 companies worldwide, narrowing the list down to 250 based on three key criteria:
- Positive environmental impact – Measuring contributions to sustainability and climate goals.
- Financial strength – Assessing long-term financial stability and growth.
- Innovation drive – Analyzing companies’ patent portfolios as a reflection of technological advancement.
Why LeydenJar Was Selected
LeydenJar earned its spot in this prestigious list due to its unique, energy-efficient production process, which is completely different from conventional battery manufacturing. LeydenJar’s dry production process, based on its proprietary PECVD (Plasma-Enhanced Chemical Vapor Deposition) technology, eliminates the need for wet chemical processes, making it significantly more sustainable. This method allows the direct deposition of pure silicon anodes, utilizing clean, abundant silicon instead of conventional graphite, which is scarce and predominantly processed in China. These innovations not only contribute to cleaner battery production but also enable higher energy density batteries, supporting the electrification of consumer electronics, electric vehicles, and other industries.
A Word from LeydenJar’s Leadership
Christian Rood, CEO of LeydenJar “We are incredibly honored to be recognized by TIME and Statista as one of the world’s top GreenTech companies. This achievement validates our mission to create cutting-edge, sustainable energy solutions. Being among the best in energy storage in Europe highlights the impact of our technology on a greener future. We remain committed to pushing the boundaries of battery innovation and supporting the global energy transition.”
Looking Ahead
This milestone reinforces LeydenJar’s position as a leader in next-generation energy storage. To further this impact, LeydenJar is currently building its production facility in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, to mass-produce its innovative silicon anode material and scale its proprietary PECVD production process. The company is actively collaborating with global cell manufacturers and leading consumer electronics brands to bring its breakthrough technology to market in the coming years.
